Tim Hoagland |
Director of BandsMr. Hoagland is a graduate of Lancaster High School and Ohio Christian University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education, Summa Cum Laude. He studied percussion privately with Mr. Bruce Gerken, Mr. Jay Fant, and Dr. Juan Mendoza. At the university, he participated in the Concert Band, Festival of Carols Orchestra, and Athletic Band.
Mr. Hoagland joined Eastern Brown Local Schools in June of 2015. Under his direction, the Eastern Brown Concert Band and Marching Band consistently earn Superior ratings at the District and State level. Mr. Hoagland was chosen as Eastern's "Teacher of the Year" for 2017-2018. Previously, Mr. Hoagland served as the Director of Percussion Studies for Canal Winchester High School and Circleville High School and provided percussion consultation for numerous schools in Ohio. In addition, Mr. Hoagland serves as the OMEA District 16 President-Elect and is an OMEA Large Group, Marching Band, and Solo & Ensemble Adjudicator. Outside of music, Mr. Hoagland enjoys camping, boating, fishing, ice skating, skiing, and spending time with his family and friends. He is professionally affiliated with the Ohio Education Association, the Ohio Coalition of Percussion Educators (OCPE), the Percussive Arts Society (PAS), the Ohio Music Education Association (OMEA), and the National Association for Music Education (NAfME). In spring of 2022, he was inducted into the prestigious American School Band Directors Association (ASBDA). |
