Our StoryEastern Brown Local Schools is located in Brown County, Ohio, and contains several small communities and villages. The Instrumental Music Department consists of Beginning Band, 7th Grade Band, Concert Band (8-9), Symphonic Band (10-12), Marching Band, Jazz Band, Pep Band, and various chamber ensembles.
In addition, private lessons are available and encouraged for all instrumental students, from 6-12 grade. Taking private lessons is one of the best ways to improve individual musicianship. Although the Marching Band is the most visible aspect of the instrumental music department, the concert bands are at the core of the program. In the concert bands, students learn fundamental skills and are exposed to the finest literature in the wind band repertoire. Each ensemble has multiple performance opportunities throughout the year, including parades, OMEA Marching and Concert Band events, OMEA Solo and Ensemble events, honor bands, and community concerts.
